Instagram Favorites II

It's much easier and faster for me to just "photo dump", so here are the rest of my favorites that I have posted to Instagram or Facebook, or simply edited to post on the blog in the future (aka now). My mom came to visit a couple times in the past two months, and we took Emma for a quick walk then played in the swing outside before she needed to be hooked back in to the ventilator again. As I mentioned in the post before, it is harder to keep the photos in order, so they will not be.

^^ I like seeing her leg bent the correct way, naturally.

^^ another leg bend
^^ this night, I had her sitting and sprinting while taking my shower and she kept looking up
at all the pictures of Michael and I, before we became parents.
^^ neck tickles are the most ticklish!
^^ and this is why her ventilator alarms are sounding all day!
^^ feeling the water drips, a new sensory experience
^^ who is that girl? does she want to play?

Today I did some of Emma's Halloween pictures early, so I can start making a few scrapbook cards and mail them out by October 1st, but I won't be posting those until next month. I definitely need Michael to help me with her photoshoots these days, because Emma is in a suuuper grabby, pull off, throw stage, so I need him to distract her and help make her smile while I take the pictures. Michael has already been getting hives with my piles of costumes and decorations around the house, but he is being sweet about not nagging too much, and I try to clean everything up (mostly) at the end of the night. :)

Instagram Favorites

I always feel like it's easiest to pick which pictures to post on the blog by which ones I have posted on Instagram. I have a bunch of "favorites" in photos folder on my phone, but they hadn't been edited on Instagram yet, so they are only my second favorites apparently.

Another thing I wanted to write to remember is that during trach care these days, Emma loves pulling our medical gloves off and she will throw them forward. If they just happen to land in the trashcan, we cheer very loudly for her and she loves that! Also in the past week she will sometimes throw one glove to her right, causing it to hit Michael in the face. That makes me laugh a lot, and I am thinking she does it on purpose because she laughs so much that she leans forward all the way and her head almost touches the trach table she is sitting on.

She loves all of her music toys that play sounds and sing songs. She has the smaller cube that she girl from my friend Valeska for her birthday. "The cow's in the triangleeee!" She loves her big cube that she got from GiGi and Grandpa Al. "I am a happy bear. I love to sing and play!" Her turtle that we got for her first Christmas in Michigan plays classical music. Her Linkables sloth that she got from Ne-ooo this past Christmas, my mom's best friend who was kind of like my aunt growing up. "Hello, friend, how are you today?" She plays with him so much that his batteries have to be changed out the most. Malinda (little robot girl) has been hiding in the closet for a couple months because she is small and easy to throw around/ against the wall/ landing on the hardwood floor, causing her to malfunction mere days after getting new batteries. My mom bought her a back up Malinda, but we might save it until Emma is throwing things less. And lastly, there is a music table that we took the legs off of since floor level is easiest for her to play with. Today she spun the wheel a bunch of times, which sings the alphabet. After the first five spins it sounded like she was trying to sing along!

If I think of more personality things, I'll add them later. Oh, we are back in mitten mode, having to put mittens on her hands at night because she keeps pulling her posey, sock, coban, and foot probe off, causing her alarm to sound many, many, many times.

Sasha still seems like she is not too sure about Emma. She was around for eleven years before Emma. Technically ten, but Emma didn't come home from the NICU until almost a year later. Sometimes Sasha does okay and will let Emma pet (or squeeze) her, other times she growls at her just because she's crawling around the floor. I try not to let her get too close. Sometimes Sasha will lay in Emma's tent, but I make her get out because I don't want her getting the idea that it's her territory and then nipping at Emma when she crawls in there to play with her own toys. She did nip/ quickly bite Emma's hand the other night because she was trying to pull herself up with the couch (where she is raised up on her "knee backs") and her hand was right where Sasha was sitting. I made Sasha go outside, but surprisingly Emma didn't cry or look sad at all. More confused.
^^ she uses her "knee backs" a lot these days!!
She will also get up and squeeze her milk bag. I don't know if she does that just because it's something to reach for, or because we squeeze it all the time to keep the pectin mixed up because it settles.

I'm having to use Michael's laptop to blog now since I learned that mine will no longer load this Blogger website, but now his laptop is starting to have problems here, so I can't rearrange the order of the rest of the pictures without it deleting them- or me deleting them and adding them again exactly where I want them, sorry.. Both of our laptops are from 2009! But that is not a purchase I want to make again. One of those things in like that is easy to complain about, but that I don't want to pay to fix/ replace.

This rhimophyma nose prosthetic is something Michael made at work and was able to bring home. He has been working on more projects at home lately (for work and "fancifying" the house). I will post about those on my original blog later, since those topics aren't about Emma.

^^ Big stuff moving my 3-pound weights around!
^^ Grammy visiting!!

^^ Emma's first selfie! ;)

I have been trying to get her to put her shirts on by herself because she is great at putting it down to her neck and getting her arms in the right holes, but only as long as I'm holding the bottom part. This was a failed attempt with Emma showing me she can't (yet) do it without my help. Haha.

^^ my first photo of Emma in portrait mode with the new iPhone I got on sale at the end of July!
Lastly, I am sad to say that we may need to toss one of my favorite onesies of her. It is finally getting too small after 33 months of use! :)  It says, "oh hello little rainbow".

Kinda of a weird place to end on without a wrap up paragraph, which I usually like to add, but I really need to go to bed since I work in the morning! Byeee! :)
